Biography

Karla Burnett brings over three decades of legal experience to James Law Firm, where she serves as Managing Attorney. A proud native of North Little Rock, Karla has dedicated her career to public service and the law, earning a reputation for integrity, leadership, and deep knowledge of civil and governmental legal matters.

Karla earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1991 and her Juris Doctor in 1994, both from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She was admitted to the Arkansas Bar in 1994 and began her legal career with the Pulaski County Civil Attorney’s Office. In 1998, she was appointed Pulaski County Civil Attorney, a role in which she served with distinction for over 15 years.

From 2014 to 2024, Karla continued her public service as part of the Pulaski County Assessor’s Office. After retiring from Pulaski County in July 2024, she brought her wealth of legal expertise to James Law Firm.

Karla is admitted to practice in the State of Arkansas, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. She is also a member of the Arkansas Bar Association and the Pulaski County Bar Association.

Known for her practical approach, deep community roots, and unwavering dedication to her clients, Karla is proud to continue serving Arkansans in her new role at James Law Firm.
