Biography

Kate Hix began her legal career at an international law firm in Chicago, but quickly returned to her hometown of Austin, where she got married to her husband of 17 years. Kate practiced criminal law for a period before moving into non-profit management. Kate built a successful career managing non-profits, but missed the practice of law. Kate felt drawn to Family Law because it provides the opportunity to work with clients who need assistance during what can be a very challenging time of life. As a child of divorce, Kate knows the importance of a trusted attorney. Kate is thrilled to be a part of the HBLF team.

Outside of work, Kate and her husband are busy raising three children and two dogs. Kate enjoys singing in choir and staying active however possible. Kate loves to travel, especially to Mexico and Central America to practice her Spanish. Kate is a huge animal lover and volunteers with animal rescue.
