Biography

EXPERIENCE

Katherine is an attorney in the firm’s Education Law Group representing public school districts and employers in all areas of civil litigation, including employment discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, retaliation, civil rights and constitutional claims, Title IX, student discipline and due process, and personal injury. She joins the firm with experience litigating matters in both state and federal court in cases involving general tort liability, first-party auto, third-party auto, premises liability, property damage, and employment discrimination. Katherine also has extensive appellate experience after working at the pre-hearing research division of the Michigan Court of Appeals during law school, working as a student attorney for the Michigan State Appellate Defender’s Office while in law school, and successfully representing clients in both the state and federal appellate courts while in practice.

Outside of the office, Katherine enjoys trying new local restaurants and cuisines, traveling to new cities and countries, riding horses, and spending time up north with her husband and rescue dog.

Katherine is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan (2016), the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan (2018), the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan (2019), and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals (2020). Katherine was named a Michigan Rising Star (Super Lawyers) in 2023, and a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for 2024.
