Biography

Katie is a member of the Casualty Department where she focuses her practice on the defense of companies and individuals in a wide array of civil litigation matters. She handles matters involving automobile liability, amusement, sports and recreation, premises and retail liability, rideshare liability and property litigation. Katie’s approach to litigation is both client focused, and outcome driven. She is committed to providing exceptional representation and personalized attention to each client, ensuring that their legal needs are met with the highest level of professionalism and diligence.

Before joining Marshall Dennehey, Katie represented indigent clients in a variety of criminal and civil proceedings, focusing her practice on litigating cases involving high-stakes felonies. She has a proven record of dedicated and zealous representation of her clients, obtaining favorable results for numerous clients on a wide range of matters.

Katie is a proud graduate of West Virginia University College of Law, attending on a full tuition merit-based scholarship. At WVU Law, Katie served as Chair of the Student Ethics Committee, President of the Community Service Counsel, a member of the West Virginia Innocence Project, a junior editor of Family Law Quarterly, and served as the WVU Law student representative for the West Virginia Access To Justice Commission’s Committee for Re-entry. Also, while a student, Katie served as the Graduate Assistant for Compliance in Information Security Services for the University. Katie spent her summers as a Public Interest Fellow, first with West Virginia Board of Risk and Insurance Management as a Legal Intern in the State Privacy Office, and then with Legal Aid of West Virginia, primarily assisting pro-se clients in matters related to domestic violence. Katie also worked with the Academic Excellence Center at WVU Law as a tutor, where she assisted prospective students in obtaining higher LSAT scores.

Katie enjoys volunteering with organizations that support individuals with special needs and intellectual differences, and recently completed a term as a Board Member with Stepping Stones Recreation Center for People with Disabilities, where she served as volunteer throughout her time at WVU Law. Katie has also participated as a volunteer with The Miracle League of Morgantown (t-ball), and as a volunteer basketball coach for Special Olympics of Monongalia County.

Katie is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
