Mary Katherine “Katie” Shoenfelt, a Baton Rouge native, is a divorce and family law attorney who focuses on complex and high-conflict cases involving custody, support, and community property. She also served on the Legislative Child Support Review Committee for the 2024 legislative session, where she helped develop proposed changes to Louisiana’s child support laws that were enacted by the legislature.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, with a minor in Communication Studies, from Louisiana State University in 2006, and her Juris Doctor from LSU Law Center in 2009, after which she was admitted to practice law in Louisiana. She developed a strong foundation in litigation while practicing alongside her father, Oscar Shoenfelt, III, a respected Baton Rouge trial attorney with more than 40 years of experience in medical malpractice and personal injury.
