Kaytlyn Knowles: Attorney with Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys

Biography

Kaytlyn Knowles is a San Antonio criminal defense attorney and Senior Trial Attorney at Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys. Licensed to practice law in Texas since 2012, she represents clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges throughout Bexar County and South Texas. Her practice focuses exclusively on criminal defense, including DWI, assault, drug offenses, domestic violence, theft crimes, weapons charges, probation violations, and other serious criminal matters.

Before joining Michael & Associates, Kaytlyn spent more than a decade as an Assistant District Attorney in Bexar County, where she prosecuted thousands of criminal cases ranging from drug offenses and DWI to violent felony crimes. During her prosecutorial career, she tried more than 50 felony jury trials and handled hundreds of evidentiary hearings, giving her extensive courtroom experience and firsthand knowledge of how prosecutors evaluate evidence, negotiate plea agreements, prepare witnesses, and present cases to juries.

Today, Kaytlyn uses that experience to defend individuals accused of crimes. Having worked on both sides of the courtroom, she understands how criminal cases are investigated, charged, litigated, and resolved. She leverages that insight to identify weaknesses in the government's evidence, anticipate prosecutorial strategies, challenge constitutional issues, and develop defense strategies tailored to each client's circumstances. Whether negotiating favorable resolutions or preparing a case for trial, she is committed to protecting her clients' rights at every stage of the criminal justice process.

Kaytlyn earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, magna cum laude, from Texas Christian University before receiving her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2012. While in law school, she demonstrated exceptional courtroom advocacy by winning the Garland Walker Mock Trial Competition. She remains active in the legal community through membership in the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Texas District & County Attorneys Association, reflecting her commitment to continuing legal education and excellence in criminal law.

Clients value Kaytlyn for her courtroom experience, practical advice, and straightforward communication. She understands that criminal accusations can have lasting consequences and works diligently to pursue the best possible outcome while helping clients navigate an often overwhelming legal process.
