Biography

Kelly Irwin is a Family Law Attorney and founding partner with IRWIN & IRWIN, LLP, with offices in Fullerton and Newport Beach, California. Mrs. Irwin grew up in Southern California and is originally from New Jersey. She earned two Associate degrees in Philosophy and Criminal Justice, and thereafter graduated from Chapman University with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Mrs. Irwin went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from Western State University College of Law. Mrs. Irwin began her career practicing for several years with a notable civil defense firm, and then later as a Family Law Attorney with another prominent firm before starting IRWIN & IRWIN, LLP in 2011 with her husband, Mark Irwin.

Mrs. Irwin has successfully litigated virtually every type of family law matter, including high-asset, dependent adult children, complex support & custody, and “move-away” matters. During the many years Mrs. Irwin practiced civil litigation, she represented municipalities and law enforcement agencies from throughout California in civil rights claims, primarily in Federal Court. Mrs. Irwin has also represented clients in administrative law matters. Mrs. Irwin has had many successes in arbitrations, as well as in both Federal and State jury trials in complex litigation. She is admitted to practice law before the California Bar and also the Federal Court – Central & Northern Districts of California.

Mrs. Irwin spent several years as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Orange County Family Justice Center Foundation. This Foundation is devoted to supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence. She co-chaired several very successful fundraisers for the OCFJC Foundation, and also co-authored their first business plan. Mrs. Irwin continues to serve on the Friends of the OCFJC Foundation.

Mrs. Irwin has served as a guest lecturer on Family Law, and Ethics in Family Law, at Western State University College of Law. She has also served as a Moot Court competition judge on several occasions at WSU law school, and has authored several published articles on family law matters.

Mrs. Irwin now limits her practice exclusively to Family Law matters. She currently accepts cases in Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Los Angeles Counties.
