Biography

Kent Hanszen is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and enjoys an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell's Peer Review Ratings. He brings a broad perspective to litigation, having worked for large firms in Beaumont and Houston, as well as having developed his own practice. He has specialized in business disputes, including trade secret and non-competition issues, insurance coverage matters, contract claims, and oil and gas matters. He earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Finance from Texas A&M University. He is licensed to practice in all Texas State courts, the Federal Courts of the Southern District and Eastern District of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Kent has practiced before the courts in more than sixty counties in Texas and before numerous state courts of appeals. He has practiced in every federal district in Texas, the Western District of Oklahoma and the Southern District of New York. He also is a Certified Mediator through the A. A. White Institute associated with the University of Houston. Prior to entering law school, Kent utilized his business education while working for General Dynamics and subsequently as an auditor in the banking industry.
