Biography

For nearly 30 years, Kevin has devoted his practice to civil litigation defense. During the course of his career, he has defended hundreds of cases involving allegations of medical malpractice, nursing home liability, automobile/rental car liability and premises liability, typically involving allegations of catastrophic injury or wrongful death. His clients include some of the largest insurance carriers, hospital systems, hotels, rental car companies and theme parks in Florida, as well as individual doctors and other health care providers.

While Kevin’s practice has always been based out of Orlando, FL, he has defended cases in nearly every county in Florida and obtained defense verdicts at trial in multiple counties throughout the state during his career. Kevin has been a frequent lecturer on a variety of litigation issues, including Developments in Florida Medical Malpractice, Automobile Liability/PIP Case Law Update, Medical Peer Review and Amendment 7, Food-Borne Illness Litigation, Duty Owed by a Health Care Provider, Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring and Tracing Litigation, and Florida Defamation Case Law Update.

Kevin was born in Des Moines, IA, but grew up in Central Florida. He attended Mississippi State University on an athletic scholarship. He was a four-year letterman on the men’s tennis team, and in his senior year, captained his team to a Division 1 top 25 ranking in the country, while also being named to the Southeastern Conference Scholar Athlete Honor Roll. He obtained his law degree from the University of Mississippi but was a visiting student at the University of Alabama for his final year of law school, while also serving as Assistant Coach for the nationally ranked University of Alabama men’s tennis program.

Kevin currently volunteers on a weekly basis for the Central Florida Intergroup Hotline, an organization dedicated to assisting individuals struggling with addiction. He is a passionate saltwater fly fisherman, and supports a number of organizations dedicated to the preservation of Florida’s waters and environment.
