Biography

Kierra J. Klefas joined McLeod, Alexander, Powel, & Apffel as an associate in August 2021.

In addition to firsthand Law Clerk experience with the firm and an internship with the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office - Juvenile Division, Kierra brings business acumen as a financial analyst intern for the Houston subsidiary of a fully integrated global energy/chemicals enterprise and advanced technical skills in management information systems.

While she has broad legal knowledge in a variety of legal matters, her primary practice areas are commercial and real estate litigation, ad valorem tax and property valuation litigation, employment law, toxic tort, and railroad/FELA law.

As a graduate of Ball High and Trinity Episcopal School, she understands our “island life” and is well-established in the community. She has volunteered at Ronald McDonald House, the Salvation Army, and The Jesse Tree and seeks more ways to contribute to the community. Kierra also currently serves as the President of the Galveston County Young Lawyers Section.
