Kim Kinney: Attorney with Kinney Law, pc

Biography

Kim is a South Dakota native who has been a vital part of the Kinney Law team since 2014. Her journey in the legal field began even earlier when she worked as an intern assisting with jury trials and complex research. After earning her law degree from the University of South Dakota in 2013, she spent a year serving as a law clerk for the state’s Fourth Judicial Circuit. This experience behind the scenes of the court system gave her a unique perspective on how judges make decisions, which she now uses to benefit her clients. Today, Kim maintains a diverse practice focusing on family law, criminal defense, and civil litigation. She is highly involved in the legal community, representing the Fourth Circuit on the Young Lawyers Board of Directors. When she isn’t advocating for her clients, Kim is usually outside enjoying South Dakota’s natural beauty. Whether she is hunting, fishing, or staying active with her family and her dogs, she remains deeply connected to the state she has always called home.
