Biography

Like my husband Mike Daugherty, I was raised in a military family. I was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 2011 and my practice areas include family and domestic relations matters and civil litigation. I have successfully litigated numerous cases involving custody, equitable distribution and child/spousal support. Out of court, I’ve also negotiated complex settlement agreements and successfully pursued and defended against various tortious claims, including defamation and malicious prosecution.

I represent clients throughout Northern Virginia. Family law cases (and most cases, in fact) often involve intense emotional disputes. Clients appreciate the way I use my analytical style, attention to detail and calm approach to minimize the emotional toll on them while holding nothing back in representing their best interests.

Mike and I share goals and ideals about the practice of law. Lots of firms focus on short-term goals for clients, but fail to advise them of the long-term impacts that going to court can have on family dynamics. We believe going to court is a last resort, but if we do go to court we prepare ourselves and our clients to achieve the best possible outcome.

In addition to being a trial attorney, I’m a wife and mother of three: twins (William and Nellie) and little sister, Scottie. I enjoy gardening, long-distance running and winter sports.
