Biography

Kirsten Kjellander is a Senior Counsel in the Tax Group. She has 20 years of experience advising clients on a broad range of Canadian corporate tax matters, both domestic and international, with specific focus on M&A, cross-border investment and corporate reorganizations. Prior to joining Farris she was a partner in the tax group of a national Canadian law firm, a senior manager at a Big 4 accounting firm and an advisor in the Tax Avoidance Department of the Canada Revenue Agency. She has a masters degree in US tax which assists her in communicating with US clients and structuring cross-border transactions but she does not practice US law or advise directly on US tax issues. She is a frequent writer and presenter on tax issues.
