Biography

As a co-founder and partner of Files Hayle, Kristen Files brings more than 13 years of experience to families facing difficult transitions. Her practice is rooted in family law, and she is frequently called on to handle high-stakes, high-conflict cases involving significant assets and complicated dynamics. Kristen’s approach is steady and family-centered. She helps clients move through litigation while keeping the long-term well-being of their children and relationships in view. In addition to advocating for clients, she is a certified mediator and often serves as a neutral in both family and civil litigation matters. She is also trained and experienced as a guardian ad litem. Kristen received her undergraduate degree from Emory University and earned her J.D. from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School in 2010. She began her legal career at several respected Atlanta-area family law firms before opening her own practice. Kristen lives in Midtown Atlanta with her daughter Sydney and their dog Lola.
