Biography

Kristen Petersen Hofer specializes in medical malpractice, civil litigation and real estate transactions. She has defended hospitals, physicians, dentists and other health care providers in complex medical malpractice cases throughout the entirety of her career as an attorney. She has also represented physicians at Office of Professional Medical Conduct proceedings. In addition, she manages and facilitates residential real estate transactions. She has also represented and defended construction corporations and supermarkets in personal injury actions, including mold exposure.

In 2000, Kristen graduated cum laude from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. She worked as an Occupational Therapist for over a decade, including while in law school. In 2005, Kristen earned her Juris Doctor from Hofstra University. She also earned a Certificate of Study in Health Law from Hofstra University. In 2003, Kristen studied products liability and comparative constitutional law taught by Justice Antonin Scalia and US District Court Judge Richard C. Conway at Faculte de Droit de l’Universite de Nice, in Nice, France.

Kristen is admitted to practice law in the State of New York. She is also admitted to the United States District Court, Eastern District.
