Kristin Rey Valdivia

Kristin R. Valdivia was born in Chicago, Illinois and spent her childhood and early adult years living in the south suburbs of Illinois. After graduating from Thornton Fractional South High School, Mrs. Valdivia went on to attend college while also working full time at a local community bank. In 2010, she graduated from Purdue University, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She continued her career in the retail banking industry after college, and was subsequently promoted to a managerial position.

Upon gaining acceptance to Valparaiso University School of Law, Mrs. Valdivia left the banking industry, after nearly ten years of service, in order to focus exclusively on completing her studies. While attending law school, she served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Julia Jent of the Porter Superior Court, Division Three, and as a judicial extern to the Honorable Diane K. Schneider of the Lake Superior Court, Civil Division. Mrs. Valdivia also served as a law clerk for Sachs & Hess, P.C. during law school. In 2016, she graduated from Valparaiso Law, cum laude, with her Juris Doctor degree, finishing in the top 15% of her graduating class.

Mrs. Valdivia devotes her practice primarily to the areas of family law, juvenile law, and criminal law. She is admitted to practice law before the United States District Court, Northern District of Indiana, and the Indiana Supreme Court. She is a member of the Lake County Bar Association and the Women Lawyers Association of Northwest Indiana.
