Biography

L. Morgan Martin has been practicing criminal defense and personal injury in the state and federal courts of South Carolina for over 25 years, and prior to that spent seven years handling felony cases as a Deputy Solicitor and state prosecutor.

Mr. Martin's long-standing commitment to public service has included serving in the South Carolina state legislature for six years, during which time he chaired both the Criminal Law Committee and the Sentencing Guidelines Commission.  Mr. Martin also served his state as Chairman of the Department of Transportation under Governor Jim Hodges and is a member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference.

Mr. Martin has been repeatedly recognized by his peers for possessing a high degree of legal ability, ethics, and professionalism.  He has been selected to Super Lawyers and has been awarded the coveted "AV" rating by Martindale-Hubbell.  In addition, Mr. Martin is a member of the highly-exclusive and prestigious American Board of Criminal Lawyers.  He has also been recognized as a Distinguished Alumni at Francis Marion University, where he was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Humanities.
