Biography

L. Tyrone Holt, Esquire is the Managing Principal of THE HOLT GROUP LLC, Attorneys & Counselors at Law and WESTERN NEUTRAL SERVICES LLC, in Denver, Colorado.
Ty has over thirty-five years of experience as a construction transaction and trial attorney with more than twenty-five years of experience as a mediator and arbitrator. His clients include owners, general contractors, design professionals and construction managers. He serves as a "first chair" trial and counseling attorney for many construction industry clients. His experience extends from the simple to the most complex multi-party construction disputes. He practices in the Federal and State trial and appellate courts, before various Federal, State and local agencies and administrative claims tribunals. Mr. Holt also has extensive experience with arbitrations, mediations and other customized ADR procedures. He frequently serves as "local trial counsel" for clients with complex construction disputes.
Ty has been a frequent speaker on American Bar Association, American Arbitration Association, Design Build Institute of America, Practicing Law Institute and other national programs. Mr. Holt is a Member of the Governing Committee of the American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry; a member of the Board of Visitors of the Stanford Law School; a Fellow and Member of the Board of Directors of the College of Construction Arbitrators; a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation; and a member of the American Arbitration Association's Construction Arbitration Master Panel. Ty is a nationally recognized construction mediator and is certified Mediator by the International Mediation Institute.
Ty is Co-Editor of Design Professional/Construction Manager Liability Law, Copyright ABA Press, January 2007, co-author of "Large, Complex Construction Disputes: The Dynamics of Multi-Party Mediation", Dispute Resolution Journal, Copyright 2007, and the author of "Whither Arbitration? What Can Be Done to Improve Arbitration and Keep Out Litigation's Ill-Affects?" The DePaul University Business & Commercial Law Journal, Spring 2009.
Ty is admitted to practice law in the State of Colorado, and before the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the Los Angeles County Superior Court (Pro Hac Vice), United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court. He was a law clerk to the Honorable Preston Devine of the California Court of Appeals in 1974.
