Landin Johnston is an attorney in the firm’s Raleigh office and an associate of Mincey Bell, Cranfill Sumner’s Washington D.C.-based affiliate. Her practice centers on investigations, sensitive government and regulatory work, white collar and special matters, administrative proceedings, and contested business disputes.
Landin assists clients with pre-suit and pre-enforcement analysis, factual development, document review, and responses to government inquiries, helping clients navigate regulatory scrutiny and potential litigation exposure. She also represents clients in ongoing business disputes, supporting strategy development, factual investigation, and case positioning.
Landin also handles complex motion practice and briefing. She approaches litigation with a focus on developing clear legal arguments and building a strong record, informed by an understanding of how disputes are evaluated at both the trial and appellate levels.
Before joining Cranfill Sumner, Landin served as a law clerk and later as Legal Counsel to Chief Justice Paul M. Newby of the Supreme Court of North Carolina. In those roles, she worked closely on cases involving administrative law, civil procedure, and statutory interpretation, gaining insight into judicial decision-making and the evaluation of litigation records on review.
Landin earned her Juris Doctor from the Campbell University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude in 2022. While in law school, she was a member of the Campbell Law Review and further developed her research and advocacy skills through internships with the Supreme Court of North Carolina, the North Carolina Business Court, and the General Assembly. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from the Campbell University Lundy-Fetterman School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in Equine Business from the University of Louisville.
Outside of her practice, Landin enjoys traveling, horseback riding, and spending time with her family at the beach.
