Laura-Michelle focuses her practice on representing public and private companies in litigation, corporate, and intellectual property matters.
Laura-Michelle has over 20 years of litigation experience, both in federal and state courts, as well as in arbitrations, mediations, and administrative proceedings. She has brought numerous matters to highly successful conclusions for her clients, including obtaining and collecting on multimillion dollar judgments on contract and fraud claims, as well as swift dismissal of claims brought against them. Laura-Michelle also regularly obtains highly favorable settlements when that is the most practical solution for her clients.
Laura-Michelle also assists her clients with general corporate and intellectual property matters, with particular expertise in the beauty and fashion industries. She has successfully obtained patents, copyrights and trademarks for her clients, both domestic and abroad, and has helped clients to institute company-wide procedures to protect those rights. She also regularly litigates intellectual property matters, including enforcement of trademarks and copyrights.
In recent years, Laura-Michelle has focused on providing a wide-range of services to women-owned businesses in the fashion, beauty, wellness and luxury industries. She regularly advises start-ups, independent and mid-size companies in general corporate, contract, litigation, and intellectual property matters, and has had the pleasure of representing companies that have grown from start-ups to multi-million dollar businesses.
Laura-Michelle also has substantial experience in bringing and defending civil fraud claims, conducting internal investigations, and issuing advisory opinions on compliance with securities law. She has led internal investigations of publicly traded companies and not-for-profit institutions. Laura-Michelle has represented clients in matters prosecuted by the DOJ, including alleged securities fraud, tax fraud, and FCPA violations. Her experience includes representing clients at interviews, depositions, proffer sessions, hearings, and grand jury appearances.
