Laura N. Zachariah

Since I was young, I always dreamed of being a lawyer. Experiences often shape who we are, and my past definitely shaped who I am today. Growing up, nothing was as simple as “yes or no,” there was always another approach, another side, another idea that everyone else was missing. Surprisingly, I never wanted to be a family lawyer! However, the last two years of practice have really developed my love for helping clients through the difficulties of fighting for their children, ending a marriage, or fighting a system that is stacked against them. Developing strategies to assist people through these difficulties has really allowed my problem-solving skills to shine!

I started practicing criminal defense in San Antonio, Texas, with major focus on DWI law and other alcohol and drug related offenses. I won my first jury trial, receiving a “not guilty” verdict for my client in June of 2019, and since then I have enjoyed the successes that hard work can do for my clients in the courtroom. I later used my knowledge of criminal defense to assist clients in both family and probate related litigation. I believe lawyers are in a unique position to help shape our future, whether that be saving someone who has strayed from their path, or helping parents shape the way they raise the next generation!

I graduated from Schreiner University in the top 5% of my class in 2015. I served as the president of the Schreiner University Pre-Law Society and President of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. I started my legal career early, clerking for an experienced criminal and family lawyer in San Antonio, Texas, William “Bill” Reece. I later attended St. Mary’s University School of Law and graduated again in the top 5% of my law school class in 2018. During my time in law school, I served as an original editor of the 49th Editorial Board of the St. Mary’s Law Journal. I also served on the Women’s Law Association and clerked full time for Robert Gebbia, an experienced criminal defense attorney in San Antonio, Texas.

My prior experience in criminal law also grants me a unique outlook on my clients situations, and makes me a force to be reckoned with in the courtroom. I take pride in my ability to provide personalized representation to my clients at every stage of representation, including assistance in rehabilitative efforts and treatment with addiction and other issues plaguing a lot of homes these days. I moved my practice to Fort Worth, Texas in June of 2021, and have continued to increase my involvement and dedication to family law clients throughout north Texas. I now live in Fort Worth with my boyfriend, William, and German Shephard, Daenerys (yes, I am a major Game of Thrones fan!).
