Biography

Ms. Shapiro joined the firm in 1987 and was made a partner in 1990. Prior to joining McAloon & Friedman, Ms. Shapiro served for five years as an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the New York City Law Department and was Co-Chief of the Medical Malpractice Unit from 1985-1986.

Ms. Shapiro has an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell and has been elected as one of the Best Lawyers in America®. She is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York's Medical Malpractice Committee. She has lectured for the New York State Bar Association and the New York State Trial Lawyers Institute. She frequently speaks at hospitals, to physicians, nurses and other health care professionals on medical legal topics, including proper documentation.
