Lauren Gnanasihamany: Attorney with Whitelaw-Twining

Biography

Lauren joined Whitelaw Twining as an articled student in 2020 and became an associate in 2021. She primarily practices in the area of commercial litigation, while gaining experience in general insurance litigation as well. Lauren enjoys advocating for clients and thinking on her feet, and has appeared on behalf of clients in the Supreme Court of British Columbia.

Prior to beginning her legal career, Lauren received an honours history degree from the University of Alberta. In 2020, Lauren received her Juris Doctor from Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. While in law school, Lauren joined the women’s rugby team, worked with underserved clients through Pro Bono Students Canada and developed her passion for litigation through participating in the Wilson Moot in 2019. In her last semester of law school, Lauren worked directly with Provincial Court Judges doing research through the Judicial Externship program.

In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her friends and spending time outdoors.
