Biography

Lauren L. Sorrentino is Chair of Fitzpatrick Lentz & Bubba's Family Law Practice Group. Her practice focuses on matrimonial and family law, including divorce, equitable distribution, alimony, prenuptial and property settlement agreements, child support, child custody, and protection from abuse.

With nearly 20 years of experience, Ms. Sorrentino has developed a reputation for being an effective, practical, and compassionate advocate for her clients, as she successfully guides them through the variety of legal, financial and emotional obstacles they face. Ms. Sorrentino believes in tailoring case strategies to each client’s unique needs and thinking creatively to ensure the broadest range of potential solutions to the legal challenges facing divorcing individuals.

Throughout her career, Ms. Sorrentino has been recognized for her work in the Family Law area. In 2020 and 2021, she earned the designation of The Best Lawyers in America in the Family Law section. From 2008 – 2016, Ms. Sorrentino was recognized as a “Pennsylvania Rising Star”, a distinction for lawyers aged 40 and under and reserved for no more than 2.5% of all lawyers in Pennsylvania. Ms. Sorrentino also was previously named one of the “10 Best Attorneys” by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. In 2015, she was named one of “Forty under 40” by Lehigh Valley Business, and in 2014, she was named a Top 10 Family Law Attorney Under 40 in Pennsylvania by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys.

Ms. Sorrentino is actively involved in the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Family Law Section, having served as a Council Member of the Section. She also served as a member of the Section’s Rules Committee and Programming Committee. Locally, Ms. Sorrentino is a member of the Family Law Committees of the Bar Association of Lehigh County and the Northampton County Bar Association. She previously sat on the Executive Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Family Law Section and co-chaired the Section’s Domestic Violence Committee. She is a sought-after speaker and author on a variety of family law topics.

Ms. Sorrentino is committed to public service as well. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Community Services for Children. She also participates in various fundraising committees, including the planning committee for the Lehigh Valley Food and Wine Festival benefitting Northampton Community College Foundation and a host committee for events benefitting Truth For Women. Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Sorrentino was an Independence Foundation Fellow and staff attorney at the Women’s Law Project in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

While in law school, Lauren served as the Book Review Editor (2001-2002); Executive Editor (2000-2001); and Article Editor (1999-2000) of the Berkeley Women's Law Journal. She also was recognized with a Moot Court Award for Best Oral Argument.

Lauren was selected as one of Pennsylvania's Lawyers on the Fast Track by the Legal Intelligencer and Pennsylvania Law Weekly in 2008, and has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Rising Star in family law by Philadelphia Magazine since 2008, a distinction for lawyers aged 40 and under or who have been practicing less than 10 years, and reserved for no more than 2.5% of all attorneys in Pennsylvania. She was selected as a class member of the 2011-2012 Pennsylvania Bar Leadership Institute, and is a graduate of Leadership Lehigh Valley.
