Biography

Lawlor F. Quinlan III graduated from the Great Books Program at the University of Notre Dame With High Honors in 1991 and from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1994.

Mr. Quinlan has a broad litigation practice. He has successfully represented severely injured individuals, defended physicians in medical malpractice lawsuits and licensing proceedings, defended attorneys in legal malpractice claims, defended a town supervisor in an action brought by the other members of the town board, represented individuals and corporations in insurance coverage disputes, and represented municipalities, corporations, and individuals in a wide variety of other actions. Among the notable results he has helped obtain for the firm’s clients is a $58.6 million verdict which was ranked that year as one of the top 10 verdicts nationally by Lawyers Weekly USA and remains the largest unreduced verdict in Erie County history.

Over the years, Mr. Quinlan has been recognized by his peers and in various publications for his trial and appellate work, including being listed in Buffalo Business First’s “Who’s Who in Law,” in New York “Super Lawyers” Magazine, and in The Best Lawyers in America. He is also a fellow of Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honorary society comprised of less than one-half percent of American lawyers.

Mr. Quinlan is a past Director of the Western New York Trial Lawyers Association. He has lectured on trial advocacy and other issues for the Erie County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the New York State Judicial Institute
