Lawrence S. Shipman

Lawrence S. Shipman, Esq. practices in the area of transactional law with an emphasis on commercial real estate. Other practice areas include financing; entity formation; general business transactions; residential real estate; land use and zoning. He has lectured and written articles on business formations and the choice of business entities; and on drafting documents to avoid litigation. He is a graduate of Kenyon College (B.A. 1987) and Suffolk University Law School (J.D. 1990). His previous employment includes Schatz & Schatz, Ribicoff & Kotkin, Law Offices of Mark S. Shipman and Killian, Donohue & Shipman. Mr. Shipman also served as General Counsel to First Connecticut Life Insurance Company, where he specialized in insurance regulation, policy drafting and licensing. He is a co-founder and co-managing partner of Shipman, Sosensky & Marks, LLC. Mr. Shipman currently resides in Essex, Connecticut where he serves on the Zoning Commission and Inland Wetlands Commission. Previously he served on the Planning and Zoning Commission and Inland Wetlands Commission in the Town of Bloomfield. He is admitted to the Connecticut bar and U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut and is a member of the Hartford County, Connecticut and American Bar Associations.
