Biography

“The leading rule for the lawyer, as for the man of every other calling, is diligence. Leave nothing for to-morrow [sic] which can be done to-day [sic]. Never let your correspondence fall behind. Whatever piece of business you have in hand, before stopping, do all the labor pertaining to it which can then be done.” The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln edited by Roy P. Basler, Volume II, “Notes for a Law Lecture” (July 1, 1850), p. 81.

Born in Brazil, I obtained my United States of America citizenship while growing up in Toledo, Ohio. My decision to practice in law was realized at an early age as I knew I wanted to help people in any way that I could. Initially, I was a firefighter for this very reason. However, as time went on I felt I was ready to finally pursue my legal education and so I attended the University Of Dayton School Of Law (with scholarship). After my graduation, I made the decision to move to Florida in 2005 in order to be closer to my family. This may well have been the best decision of my life as Florida has limitless opportunities for an outdoor enthusiast like myself to engage in.

Shortly after moving to Florida, I quickly became a licensed attorney and started practicing law with the large civil litigation defense firm of Conroy, Simberg, Ganon, Krevans, Abel, Lurvery, Morrow, Schefer, Gutterman, Kraft, Klein. My experience there was immeasurable, as I quickly learned the inner workings of a defense firm and how insurance companies defend cases. After a few years of representing insurance companies in civil lawsuits, I switched to my true desire of being a Plaintiff’s attorney who litigates on behalf of injured people and entities that have been harmed in any manner.

As an attorney, I have learned that you can never let down your tenacity because being complacent is detrimental to both your career and, more importantly, to your client’s pursuit of justice. My style of practice was then formed to not only be “aggressive” like many attorneys claim to be, but also personable and detailed in order to avoid any chance of losing any advantages that my clients have during the course of litigation.

Throughout my legal career, I have obtained numerous final judgments in my clients’ favor. A common theme to all of my successful judgments obtained is my focus on the discovery phase. For example, a thorough deposition of a Defendant often results in establishing all necessary elements to a favorable outcome. It is not uncommon for me to spend hours well in excess of the deposition itself in preparing for it. No two files are the same, and that is my attitude as I open each case. Without good work ethics and a honed in focus on discovery, a lawsuit may end with dire consequences to the client.

In my personal life, I have an avid love of working out daily. Additionally, I love spending time with my children and can be found in the field coaching my son’s soccer team. Whenever time permits, I enjoy traveling abroad to visit other countries and learn their cultures. Otherwise, you can find me relaxing on the couch with my rescued dog.
