Biography

Lee Flaherty has extensive experience in both business management law and business succession planning. In addition, she is primarily responsible for the firm’s sophisticated estate planning practice and its real estate practice.

Lee’s business management practice encompasses the creation and ongoing support of both profit and not-for-profit businesses, including the preparation of buy/sell agreements, operating agreements, employment and independent contractor agreements, diverse business contracts and the establishment of both public charities and private charitable foundations. She routinely handles purchases, sales, mergers and dissolutions of businesses.

Her estate planning practice includes the preparation of a wide range of documents to help individuals preserve assets, avoid probate, minimize taxes and protect vulnerable family members. She is experienced in the creation of revocable living trusts, qualified domestic trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, charitable remainder trusts, personal residence trusts, discretionary special needs trusts and others. Lee is also skilled in probate and trust administration, and in the preparation of ancillary estate planning documents such as disclaimers and powers of attorney.

Lee’s real estate practice extends to both residential and commercial transactions and includes the preparation of purchase agreements, easement agreements, license agreements, leases, land contracts, seller-financed mortgages and other loan documents. She assists landlords with evictions, purchasers in satisfying lender requirements and sellers in clearing title defects.

"The aspect of my practice that I particularly love is the chance to be part of people's lives. Sometimes it's only for a brief time to help someone through a transaction or an event, but more often my representation continues for many years and even spans the generations within a business or a family. It's a privilege for which I am deeply grateful."
