Biography

Leonard I. Ackerman is of counsel to the Firm. His practice focuses primarily on residential and commercial real estate, construction transactions and commercial litigation. Mr. Ackerman also has broad experience with estates, trusts, wills and corporate matters and provides personal representation to selective high net worth clients.

Mr. Ackerman has been practicing for over four decades on the East End of Suffolk County and maintains an office in East Hampton, New York. Over the past several decades, he has developed numerous significant real estate projects on the East End and brings his unique and practical insight and real-world experience to offer creative solutions to the complex issues that often arise in many transactions.

Mr. Ackerman has co-chaired and lectured numerous continuing legal education programs related to legal ethics. In 2004, he was appointed by the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department, to the New York State Grievance Committee for the Tenth Judicial District. He is also the author of The Divorce Manual for Married Couples and The Real Estate Guide for Married Couples.
