Leslie F. Bishop

Leslie F. Bishop, a distinguished shareholder at Lewis Thomason, is an experienced attorney overseeing all aspects of general defense litigation, with a particular focus on workers’ compensation and employment law. Her extensive employment law practice includes representing employers before state agencies and litigating a wide range of employment issues. Leslie also serves as the Co-Chair of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Practice Group, demonstrating her leadership and expertise in this critical area.

Before joining Lewis Thomason, Leslie was with the Tennessee Department of Labor Workers’ Compensation Division, where she supervised the Knoxville Regional Office, covering nineteen counties. Her significant contributions include serving on the Governor’s Task Force for the reform of workers’ compensation laws in Tennessee, highlighting her role in shaping state policy. Leslie was the first attorney inducted into the College of Workers’ Compensation Attorneys, underscoring her pioneering contributions and exceptional expertise in the field.

Leslie has appeared in front of all state courts and the Court of Workers Compensation Claims for trials and appellate arguments on behalf of employers across the State. Her mediation skills and deep understanding of the law have been instrumental in resolving complex cases efficiently and effectively.
