Biography

Livy Mezei focuses her practice on corporate bankruptcy and restructuring matters, including representing debtors, creditors, equity holders, committees, ad hoc creditor groups, and other interested parties in financial restructuring and insolvency matters. She handles both in-court and out-of-court restructurings across various industries. Her practice encompasses chapter 11 and chapter 15 bankruptcy proceedings as well as workout situations and other distressed scenarios.

Experience

DIP Lenders and Agent

• Represented the administrative agent and DIP lenders in connection with a $425 million DIP facility in the Chapter 11 cases of a food manufacturing company and its affiliates.°

• Represented the prepetition lender holding over $500 million of secured debt, the DIP lender, and the plan sponsor in connection with the Chapter 11 filing of a gas-fueled electricity generating company in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

• Represented the prepetition lender, DIP lender, and plan sponsor in the prepackaged Chapter 11 cases of a specialty pharmaceutical company and its affiliates in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

• Represented an ad hoc group of secured lenders in the Chapter 11 cases of a network performance management company to restructure over $1 billion of secured debt.

• Represented the administrative agent for certain secured lenders in the Chapter 11 cases of Cano Health, Inc. and its affiliates.

• Represented one of the DIP lenders in the Chapter 11 cases of LATAM Airlines.°

Chapter 11 Companies

• Represented an international multi billion-dollar car rental company in its Chapter 11 cases filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

• Represented a property management company in its Chapter 11 cases filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware and restructured approximately $2 billion of funded debt.

• Represented an electric vehicle manufacturer in its Chapter 11 filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware and preserved value for its equity holders.

• Represented the leading scouting organization in its Chapter 11 case filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware and established $2.4 billion in funds for abuse victims.

Chapter 15

• Represented one of the largest retail companies in Brazil in its Chapter 15 case filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

• Represented a Brazilian-based mining corporation in its Chapter 15 case filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

• Represented a Brazilian-based energy producer in its Chapter 15 case filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors

• Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Chapter 11 cases of a medical genetics company and its debtor affiliates in the United States Bankruptcy Court in the District of New Jersey with more than $300 million of funded debt obligations.°

• Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Chapter 11 cases of a physician-led services and post-acute care company and its debtor affiliates in the United States Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of Texas with more than $2 billion of funded debt obligations.°

• Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Chapter 11 cases of a biotechnology company and its debtor affiliates filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.°

• Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Chapter 11 cases of a cinema advertising company filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Other Representative Matters

• In re Purdue Pharma L.P.—Represented an ad hoc group of individual victims in the Chapter 11 cases and the appeal proceeding of Purdue Pharma and its affiliates.°
