Biography

Lloyd D. Levenson, Chief Executive Officer of Cooper Levenson, serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Casino & iGaming Law Practice Group and Chair of the Government Services Group. He has been instrumental in developing and implementing all aspects of gaming law, with a particular focus on the latest developments in iGaming, sports wagering, mobile gaming, and pari-mutuel betting.

As a trial attorney accomplished in complex casino regulatory matters, Lloyd is positioned to uniquely address a broad range of industry legal issues. His clients include casinos, sovereign governments, casino professionals, and suppliers to the casino industry.

From defending clients in class action suits to winning a landmark Federal Appeals Court case, Lloyd takes on many of the industry’s key cases.

Beginning his career as Assistant Essex County Prosecutor and Chief Trial Attorney for the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Lloyd also served as First Assistant Essex County Prosecutor and Chief Assistant Prosecutor for the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

In 2010, Stockton University established the Lloyd D. Levenson Institute for Gaming, Hospitality, and Tourism (LIGHT) in its School of Business which combines research, training, and management to serve a critical aspect of New Jersey's economy.

Twice serving as Chairman of the Casino Law Section of the New Jersey Bar Association, Lloyd was selected by the U.S. Virgin Islands government to serve as its advisor in the development of casino gaming on St. Croix.

Chairman of the Gaming Law Committee of the General Practice Section of the American Bar Association.
