Biography

Luana DiSarra Scavone is the managing partner of WSHB's Providence, Rhode Island office and a partner in the firm's Boston, Massachusetts office. She is an accomplished trial lawyer with over two decades of experience. Luana has taken over twenty cases to verdict spanning a wide variety of practice areas. Her trial verdicts include high-profile matters involving professional liability, products liability, premise liability, transportation, catastrophic injury, construction and dram shop litigation. Notably, she has received favorable results in all her trial matters, whether by defense verdicts or beating statutory offers. She is widely sought out by clients in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island for her innovative case handling, trial prowess and favorable results.

Throughout her tenured career, Luana has represented hundreds of clients, including private individuals, companies, self-insured corporations, and insurance companies. She has appeared in Superior Courts, District Courts, US District Courts, and Appeals Courts in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, as well as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, Rhode Island Commission for Human Rights, and State Professional Licensing Boards. Luana is involved in every phase of litigation, including bench trials and jury trials. Her expertise also includes arguing dispositive motions, including summary judgment motions, and representing clients in alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation and arbitration.

She is also committed to staying up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices in law. Luana completed an intensive Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Trial Advocacy program under the direction of Massachusetts Superior Court Justices. Additionally, she frequently shares her knowledge and experience by presenting on consumer protection, insurer bad faith, and recent developments in the law for both Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
