Biography

Luigi focuses his practice on white collar defense, corporate internal investigations and compliance.

In addition to cases involving the criminal liability of individuals, Luigi deals with matters relating to the criminal liability of corporations under Legislative Decree no. 231/2001.

Moreover, Luigi takes part in internal investigations from both a national and cross-border perspective.

Experience

Representative Matters

• Assisted a leading Italian bank in a transnational internal investigation stemming from a whistleblower report and involving alleged mobbing and retaliatory acts against an employee in a senior position of the bank’s foreign subsidiary.°

• Assisted with the defense of the former CEO of a prominent Italian development financial institution in criminal proceedings regarding his alleged involvement in a corruption scheme seemingly aimed at rigging a public tender. Defense counsel obtained a full acquittal judgment.°

° The above representations were handled by Mr. Franceschi prior to his joining Greenberg Traurig.
