Marc J. Grenier is a seasoned attorney with over three decades of experience practicing law in the State of Connecticut. Marc’s practice encompasses a broad range of legal areas, including civil litigation, landlord-tenant disputes, commercial and residential real estate, matrimonial law, probate litigation, estate administration/planning, zoning, and municipal law. His legal acumen and dedication to client advocacy have earned him a reputation for excellence within both the legal community and the communities he serves. He has also been appointed by a number of Connecticut Probate Courts to serve as a Trustee, Conservator, Conservator and Guardian for a wide range of probate matters.
With 34 years in practice, Marc Grenier is an expert legal counsel as well as a fixture in the civic and legal communities of Fairfield County. Locally born and raised, and having achieved hundreds of positive results for clients, Marc handles each case with compassion and common sense, strategically providing practical counsel and attention-to-detail in order to optimize the outcome. Marc earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the New England School of Law in Boston in 1991 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance, cum laude, from Providence College (1988). He was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1991, the Federal District Court of Connecticut in 1992, and the United States Supreme Court in 1996.
In addition to his legal practice, Marc serves as a Fact Finder/Arbitrator, Attorney Trial Referee, and Special Master for the Connecticut Superior Court in both the Civil and Housing Sessions since 2002, and the Family Division since 2011.
Marc has been deeply involved in professional and civic leadership throughout his career. He is a past President of the Fairfield County Bar Association (2018–2019), having served on its Executive Board from 2014 to 2018, and held roles as Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. He has also served on the Bar Association’s Board of Directors across multiple terms.
His community engagement is equally distinguished. Marc was the Chairman of the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce (2017-2019), where he previously served as Vice Chairman, Treasurer, and Executive Board Member. He chaired the Norwalk Leadership Institute and the Chamber’s Finance Committee, and has been active on the Board of Directors from 2008-present.
Marc’s additional civic involvement includes currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Wall Street Neighborhood Association (WSNA), (2022-present), and Board of Directors of Elder House Adult Day Center in Norwalk, (2024-present).
He also has served as Treasurer of the Norwalk Senior Center (2013–2017), President and Vice President of the Norwalk Catholic Club, and Chairman of the St. Joseph’s School Advisory Board in Danbury from 2004 to 2011. He also held leadership roles with the Mid-Fairfield County American Red Cross, including as Chairperson of its Annual Golf & Tennis Tournament and as a member of its Board of Directors. He also served on the Finance Council of St. Joseph’s Church in Danbury.
Marc is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Fairfield County Bar Association, New England Land Title Association, and Knights of Columbus. He is a Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated attorney.
He resides in Danbury, Connecticut with his wife, Jeanne, and has two grown children, Daniel and Emily.
