Marcus Gatto, P.A.: Attorney with Swor & Gatto, P.A.

Biography

Marcus Gatto brings extensive personal injury trial experience to every case, having managed each phase of litigation from the initial client interview through hearings, jury trials, and appeals. He has tried numerous cases before juries, judges, and arbitrators, and is a graduate of the ABOTA (American Board of Trial Advocates) Trial Academy at Harvard Law School. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star.

A defining feature of his practice is direct, hands-on involvement in every element of a case. Marcus maintains a close attorney-client relationship throughout the litigation process rather than delegating key stages, an approach grounded in his belief that effective advocacy depends on knowing both the client and the case thoroughly.

Fluent in Spanish, Marcus conducted nearly all of his earlier practice in Florida exclusively in Spanish, serving the Spanish-speaking community. While associated with the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center, he developed significant experience as a public speaker, addressing community groups and negotiating with governmental entities. He was part of the team that negotiated the extension and redesign of Florida's food stamp program, and he has been heavily involved in litigation protecting immigrants' rights to government benefits and services, including cases involving Cuban and Haitian immigrants affected by complications in the U.S. immigration system.

Marcus received his B.S. in Biology, with honors, from Boston College, and earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 2006, including a year of study at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. He is a member of the American Association for Justice and the Minnesota Association for Justice.

Bar Admissions: Minnesota Supreme Court; U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota; Florida Supreme Court; U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
