Biography

Maria M. Rohaidy received her B.A. degree (with Honors) in political science and philosophy in 1985 from the University of Miami, Florida. She attended the University of Miami Law School and obtained her J.D. degree in 1988 with highest honors.

Since 1989, Ms. Rohaidy has practiced in various areas of the law, including business litigation, corporate law, real estate law, elder law, estate planning and trust litigation.

Ms. Rohaidy also acts as general counsel to various mid-size companies who either elect to operate without in-house counsel or who use outside counsel to supplement in-house lawyers. In such capacity, she assists clients in maintaining corporate records, handling corporate finance and banking matters, acquiring real property, and preparing commercial agreements, while also providing general advice to clients with respect to conducting all aspects of commercial activities in California. She also assists clients in the acquisition and maintenance of domestic and international trademarks, including filing trademark applications and monitoring clients' marks against infringing users.

Ms. Rohaidy became a partner of the firm in 1995.Ms. Rohaidy is fluent in Spanish and is active in various local organizations, including the Joseph A. Ball & Clarence S. Hunt Inn of Court and the Long Beach Bar Association. She is a past President of the Long Beach Bar Association. She is a supporter of the Long Beach Women's Shelter and Boy Scouts of America.

In 2005, Ms. Rohaidy was appointed by Mayor O'Neill as Commissioner for the City of Long Beach Community Development Advisory Commission.
