Mariah S. Massa

Defense attorney Mariah Massa brings a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for justice to The Nieves Law Firm. From a young age, Mariah has been profoundly intrigued by the criminal justice system and its impact on both individuals and communities. Her personal connection to the field drives her unwavering love and passion for criminal defense work. She believes in embracing a holistic approach, treating each case with the attention it deserves, understanding that each and every client’s circumstances are unique. Mariah’s journey in law began at the esteemed UC Davis, where she majored in political science during her undergraduate studies. Fueling her determination to advocate for fairness and equality, Mariah pursued her Juris Doctorate at McGeorge School of Law, earning her degree in May 2023. Mariah’s commitment to the field of criminal law is evident through her extensive work at both the state and federal levels. For two and a half years, she honed her skills at the Yolo County Public Defender’s Office, providing invaluable support to those in need of legal representation. Her dedication extended to the Eastern District of California Federal Defender, where she fearlessly fought for the rights of her clients. In fact, as a certified intern here, Mariah was able to complete a federal jury trial and attain a dismissal for her client. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mariah leads a fulfilling life outside of work. An avid yoga practitioner, she finds balance and inner strength through the practice, which undoubtedly contributes to her resilience in the workplace. Additionally, Mariah’s creativity shines in the kitchen, where she explores her culinary talents by trying out new and diverse recipes. In law school, she was revered by other classmates for her chicken tortilla soup.
