Biography

Mariana Bravo is a trusted advocate and litigator who concentrates her practice on professional liability, construction, real estate, business, and employment law.

Mariana is dedicated to her clients and has an unwavering and steadfast commitment to achieve successful and effective outcomes. She is sensitive to the stresses of litigation and strives to obtain both favorable and practical solutions to complicated issues.

Mariana has extensive experience representing attorneys, construction companies, real estate professionals, insurance professionals, security companies, businesses and corporations before administrative tribunals, state, and federal courts. She also advises companies, including Fortune 500 companies, concerning risk management and business practices. She is a frequent speaker on professional panels.

Mariana is the Past President of the Hispanic National Bar Association for the 2022-2023 term, and served as the chief executive officer and the principal spokesperson of the Association. The Association’s mission is to empower and elevate the Hispanic legal profession and serve as the voice of the Hispanic community. Mariana previously served on the Executive Committee as Vice President of Divisions, Sections and Committees, Vice President of External Affairs, Vice President of Programs, and the Regional President for Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland and West Virginia.

Mariana previously served on the Board of Directors of SCORE, a national non-profit organization, dedicated to providing mentoring and education to small businesses, including minority and diverse business owners, through its more than 10,000-person volunteer team.

Mariana is the Firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee Co-chair, and heads the Firm’s Pro Bono Committee. She led Carr Maloney’s participation with the former Washington Lawyer’s Committee’s D.C. Public School Partnership Program, which partnered law firms with D.C. public schools to bring mentoring, resources and programs to children. She actively participates in charitable events and volunteers initiatives throughout the year, including the used clothes drive for the homeless, sponsored by Gifts for the Homeless, and mentoring young students.

While in law school, Mariana interned at the US Department of Justice in the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section assisting in the prosecution of white-collar crime. Mariana is fluent in Spanish and studied a semester of law in Argentina, where she interned for the Criminal Court of Investigation in Buenos Aires and assisted in investigating criminal cases. Before entering private practice, Mariana served as a law clerk for the Honorable William D. Quarles in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
