Biography

Mark Scheier co-founded the firm with Michael Katin in 1990. Admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1972, he has practiced law in Acton since 1974. He concentrates on transactional work—representing buyers, sellers, and lenders in real-estate closings, drafting leases and purchase agreements, and advising businesses on entity formation, contracts, and acquisitions. A graduate of Antioch College (B.A., 1969) and Northeastern University School of Law (J.D., 1972), Mark regularly presents seminars on real estate law and has been a commentator on the Money Matters Radio Network. He understands the pressures of tight deadlines and complex transitions, and he works hands-on to keep clients informed and at ease. Actively involved in his community, Mark has served as President of the Middlesex West Chamber of Commerce, chaired its School-Business Partnership Committee for 18 years, and supported organizations by serving as a long time Board Member for Groton Hill Music and the Miracle League of Massachusetts. He served as the television commentator for Acton-Boxborough football for sixteen years and still announces games for the Miracle League. He is also the former chair of the of Acccessport America board, a national non-profit dedicated to promoting greater function and fitness for disabled children and adults. Mark is an avid racquetball player, having won age group championships in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New England. Mark and his team of attorneys and paralegals understand that transactional matters require immediate attention and a holistic approach, as they are always working with clients who are going through life's transitions.
