Biography

Attorney Mark Foster is an experienced and respected criminal defense lawyer who focuses on felony defense in federal and state courts. He also represents many clients on various misdemeanor charges in state court. During his 35 years of practice in North Carolina and California, as well as in the military, Mr. Foster has tried over 120 jury trials and hundreds of bench trials, has litigated hundreds of motions, and has handled dozens of appeals. As an active duty Marine Corps officer from 1984 to 1987, Mr. Foster served as a judge advocate representing Marines in court-martial trials. He then served in the Reserves until retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2004.

Mr. Foster has been practicing in Charlotte for more than 20 years and in that time has tried some of the most serious, lengthy and complex criminal trials that have taken place in federal and state courts here. He is a board-certified specialist in federal and state criminal law. Mr. Foster has been admitted to practice in North Carolina, California, Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, the Western, Eastern and Middle U.S. District Courts of North Carolina, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the U.S. Court of Appeals 4th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
