Biography

Mark V. Isola has extensive litigation experience in California state courts, federal courts, and bankruptcy courts, and has represented a diverse group of clients, from national banks and Fortune 500 companies to sole proprietorships and individuals. Mr. Isola graduated cum laude from Santa Clara University, and obtained his law degree from the University of California, Davis, King Hall School of Law where he was Executive Editor of the Davis Law Review.

Litigation / Real Estate

Mr. Isola’s practice focuses on real estate matters, including ownership disputes and title issues, as well as advising developers on acquisition and land use issues. Mr. Isola also represents creditors in foreclosures, workouts, and bankruptcy matters, such as relief from stay motions and fraudulent transfer claims.

• Representation of secured and unsecured creditors in litigation and in bankruptcy cases, including adversary proceedings. Clients include landlords, tenants, lenders, real estate developers, contractors, manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, professionals, wholesalers, retailers, and general creditors.

• State Courts and Federal District Courts: Collection of commercial debts; collection of judgments; fraudulent transfers / conveyances; prejudgment remedies (writs of attachment and writs of execution); business and real estate litigation.

• Federal Bankruptcy Courts: Claims; protection of interests; adversary proceedings, including nondischargeability of debts and priority of liens; defense of preference claims or other avoidance actions; asset purchases; Chapter 7; Chapter 11; Chapter 13.

• Advise lenders on workouts in secured transactions.

Mediation

Additionally, Mr. Isola has significant experience as a mediator.
