Biography

Mary Kathryn Brennan, a native of York, Maine, is a graduate of York High School, Colby College, and the University of Maine School of Law. She is married to Smilie G. Rogers, and they live in South Berwick, Maine, with their three children. Mary Kathryn focuses her practice on elder law, Medicaid (MaineCare) planning, and probate, with extensive experience in contested matters before York and Cumberland County Probate Courts. She was named a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers from 2015 to 2019 and received the 2014 Maine Justice Foundation New Lawyer of the Year award. Mary Kathryn is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). Previously, she served as a staff attorney at Maine Legal Services for the Elderly, representing clients before the Maine Superior, District, and Probate Courts, as well as the Maine Department of Health and Human Services and the Office of Medicare Hearings.

Mary Kathryn has also contributed to various boards, including the Maine Justice Foundation, the Museums of Old York, and the Southern Maine Agency on Aging Caregiver Support Program Advisory Committee. She is licensed to practice law in Maine.
