About Attorney Awards

Biography

Matt joined the firm in December 2007. His practice focuses on helping clients to navigate the complex waters of federal, state, and local administrative laws and regulations, particularly as related to business zoning and land use, water law, and environmental issues. He works with a number of homeowners associations with issues such as organization, administration and enforcement, and collections and liens. Matt also advises client on real estate transactions and disputes, business planning, estate planning and probate administration.

Matt serves as legal counsel to a number of municipalities and local government entities, including the City of Melba, City of Cascade, City of Sun Valley, City of Ketchum and City of Wilder. In 2013, he was recognized by his peers in the Idaho Municipal Attorneys association and awarded the “Promising Newcomer” Award.

Matt graduated from the College of Idaho (“Go Yotes”) and then headed to Washington University in St. Louis where he completed his law degree as well as a master’s degree in political science. While at the law school he served as a student attorney in the Washington University Interdisciplinary Environmental Clinic.

Matt is a proud member of the Rotary Club of Nampa. He is also active in the Nampa Chamber of Commerce, serving as a co-chair of the Government Relations Committee. He volunteers and works with a number of other local non-profit organizations, including as a board member of the Nampa Schools Foundation and a coach in the Nampa Premier Soccer Club.

He is an avid soccer player, although creaky knees now mean he is slowly shifting his focus from competitive play to just kicking the ball with his young sons. Matt and his wife also enjoy gardening, cooking, and traversing Idaho’s great outdoors.
