Biography

Matthew Burkert was raised in Durham, North Carolina, where he attended Parkwood Elementary, Lowes Grove Middle, and Jordan High School. He pursued higher education at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, earning a degree in criminal justice with a minor in psychology. Matthew then obtained his Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2012 and was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2013.

Matthew's legal career began as a law clerk at Constantinou Law Group, PA, during law school. After graduating, he became an associate attorney in 2013. In April 2023, he became the managing partner of Constantinou & Burkert, PLLC, a role that reflects his dedication to his clients and the community he has always called home.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife, Daisy, and their two children, Meelo and Della. He has a passion for the outdoors, local cuisine, and sports, particularly supporting the Durham Bulls, ECU Pirates, and Duke Blue Devils. Matthew also actively contributes to his community, dedicating time and resources to various local organizations.
