Biography

Matthew Minner is a Lexington personal injury lawyer who was recently named Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year for the Lexington area by Best Lawyers. He serves as Partner and CEO of Minner Vines Injury Lawyers, PLLC, where he leads the firm’s strategic direction while continuing to try major jury trials in both state and federal courts. Over the course of his career, he has handled complex, high-profile cases across the country, securing million- and multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements for the people he represents.

Lawdragon has recognized Matt as a “Visionary” and one of the nation’s leading legal innovators. His cases have been featured by USA Today, Good Morning America, CBS, ABC, Fox, Law360, and The National Law Journal.

Outside the courtroom, Matt channels that same drive into competition. He has run the Boston Marathon, completed triathlons, coached youth baseball and football, and is currently training for the 29,029-foot “Everesting” challenge.

Matt represents individuals, businesses, and government entities, often in cases involving powerful corporations. He served as lead and co-lead counsel for the Commonwealth of Kentucky and other states in consumer protection litigation that resulted in record recoveries.

The National Law Journal has recognized one of his verdicts among the “Top 100 Verdicts in America.” He has also been credited with securing one of the top five verdicts of the year in Kentucky and one of the top ten verdicts of the decade in Alabama.

Awards

Matt holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and previously met the requirements for board certification as a civil trial specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (2007–2012). He has been included in The Best Lawyers in America for personal injury litigation every year since 2011 and has earned recognition as a “Top 100 Trial Lawyer” from The National Trial Lawyers and a “Best in State Lawyer” by Forbes.

He has also been named to the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America, recognized as a Litigation Star by Benchmark Litigation, and selected as a MidSouth Super Lawyer for many years.

Matt serves on the Vanderbilt University Law School Board of Directors and on several nonprofit and business boards. He is President of Cure KY Kids, a nonprofit he co-founded with his wife, Joy, to support Kentucky children fighting cancer. He was formerly a member of the national board of directors for the University of Kentucky Alumni Association and previously served on the YMCA board, where he was named Volunteer of the Year.
