Biography

Matt joined the firm in 2014 and became a shareholder in 2019. He represents individual workers and labor unions in all matters concerning workers’ rights. He is also a housing rights attorney whose legal advocacy against evictions has been featured in the Detroit Free Press. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, he worked as a solo practitioner. He is a member of the National Lawyers Guild (and served as the president of his law school chapter), the Union Lawyers Alliance, the National Employment Lawyers Association, and the Michigan State Bar’s Labor & Employment Section. His legal analysis of water affordability in Detroit was published in the Michigan Environmental Law Journal. In addition to being admitted to all state and federal courts in Michigan, he is admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, the Fourth Circuit, and the Sixth Circuit. He holds degrees from Central Michigan University (dual B.S., Honors College, 2007) and Wayne State University (J.D., 2012).
