Biography

Matthew Ballard, a Virginia Tech graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree, furthered his legal education by obtaining a Juris Doctor degree from the College of William and Mary School of Law in 2002. With six years of dedicated service in the Hampton Commonwealth Attorney's Office, Matt embarked on a new chapter in his legal career when he joined the esteemed Smith Law Firm in Hampton. Here, he passionately defended clients facing criminal and traffic cases across the Hampton Roads region.

In 2023, Matt established Ballard Law Firm, where he continues to uphold his unwavering work ethic and commitment to clients, a dedication that has defined his legal practice since 2010.
