Biography

Matthew J. Pozza is an Associate in the firm's Jacksonville office, handling general civil litigation and insurance defense litigation. His practice areas include bad faith and extra-contractual liability, catastrophic and personal injury, premises liability, and vehicle negligence.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California University in 2017 before completing his Juris Doctor at Ohio Northern University Claude W. Pettit College of Law in 2023.

Prior to joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, Mr. Pozza worked in civil litigation representing plaintiffs. He was also a Teaching Fellow at the Law and Leadership Institute where he taught introductory-level law courses to outstanding high school students interested in becoming attorneys and coached a mock trial team to a third-place finish in a statewide competition. Mr. Pozza also worked in the Economic Crimes Unit at the Office of the State Attorney, 20th Judicial Circuit. There, he worked closely with Assistant State Attorneys during many trials.

Mr. Pozza is a veteran. He served in the United States Navy, on active-duty, during Operation Enduring Freedom.
