Biography

Attorney Matthew Velazquez was born and raised in Hialeah, Florida. As the son of immigrants from both Cuba and Nicaragua, he knows the struggle of families who want nothing more than to become Americans and make the United States their true home. After completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy with Summa Cum Laude honors at Florida International University, Matthew obtained his Juris Doctor from FIU’s College of Law in 2017. Since then, his focus as an attorney has been assisting clients navigate the complexities of immigration law. Matthew is an active member of the Florida State Bar and the American Bar Association, having had the privilege of representing both individuals and families in all manner of cases before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service, Executive Office of Immigration Review, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
